Epson Printer Black or Colored Print Problem

Ink Nozzle

If you’re facing an issue with poor quality black printouts despite attempts to clean the printer head and replace the ink cartridge, it’s important to consider alternative solutions. Continuing with the same approach may lead to further damage to the printer, potentially rendering the printer head unusable and producing only black ink.

There could be several reasons for the issue with the black ink, including a clogged or malfunctioning ink cartridge. It’s recommended to replace the cartridge at least once a year to avoid such issues.

Another possibility is that the ink cartridge has almost run out of ink and is filled mostly with air, which can be resolved by replacing the cartridge. It’s also possible that non-original black ink may be too strong and may have damaged the printer head.

User Question – Epson Printer Printing Problem

Can you provide advice on how to resolve an issue with a printer where the black printout is poor quality, despite attempting head cleaning and ink cartridge replacement?

A technician from our supplier suggested that the color print nozzles may be clogged, and that running a head cleaning prioritizing black ink may help. However, even after following this advice, the black printout remains poor and sometimes deteriorates further. Do you have any further suggestions for resolving this issue?

Answer to Epson Printer Printing Problem

It is not advisable to continue with the current approach, as it may lead to further damage to the printer. There is a risk that the printer head may become completely unusable and produce only black ink.

The issue with the black ink could be due to several reasons. Firstly, the black ink cartridge may be clogged or malfunctioning, which is a common problem that can be resolved by replacing the cartridge (it is recommended to change it at least once a year).

Another possible cause is that the ink cartridge has almost run out of ink, and is mostly filled with air. Lastly, it is also possible that the black ink is too strong (non-original ink) and may have damaged the printer head.

To address the issues, it is recommended to remove the continuous ink system away from the printer. It may require disassembling skills and be careful for any data cable and sensor damage.
